A group of Westlake businessmen and community leaders met one June night. They had just finished putting on their annual comedy stage show for the Westlake Civic Club to help raise funds for a project everyone was backing. The question came up, “what more could they do to assist the needs of their fast growing community of some 9,000 residents. The Westlake Mayor and other prominent men in the community had at one time or another visited clubs in other communities in the area and decided to look into forming such a group in Westlake. A petition was submitted to Kiwanis International for chartering on June 27, 1950.
The Kiwanis Club became a leading force in Westlake supporting school activities and community assistance programs. All programs and projects are made possible through the Westlake Kiwanis Club’s various fund-raisers that Westlake citizens enjoy and its club members support with their time and talent.

We are now selling t-shirts to Thank all the Heros in Ohio who are putting their lives on the line to keep us safe and make sure we have food in our stores. If you would like to purchase a shirt please go to the link below. Shirts are $25.00 each and you can get the USA or Ohio State Flag as the interior design. $10 goes to Kiwanis youth foundation for every shirt sold.
If you don't want to purchase a shirt but still want to support Kiwanis you can donate here.
We need your help. Our organization has provided hundreds of meals and donated thousands of dollars of food and money to the local food bank during this time of crisis. We are purchasing helmets for Safety Town and have provided fire/co detectors to the fire department to install in houses where people can't afford them. We help the community in many other ways that are too long to list. Our primary fundraising tool is pancake breakfasts which have been canceled in the past and maybe canceled in the future.
Interested in doing more than just donating money? Please check out our website and contact us for information on joining Kiwanis.
